Low water and bright sunshine, meant that fishing was difficult over the last few weeks, despite this guests did manage to catch salmon on the Mount Falcon Estate water, using a range of methods including light line worming, bubble and fly, and fly. Two anglers who enjoyed success last Saturday the 17th June were Tara Weston & Marzio Weston, who both caught their first salmon. Tara’s fish was a beautiful fresh grilse weighing over 6lb.
Anglers fishing waters on our 3 River’s package also enjoyed success on The Ridge Pool and Cathedral Beats, where the lower water meant that the numbers of salmon were beginning to build up. Salmon were also caught on the Owenmore river.
Finally this week the rains came and the river has risen, as the water cleans and drops we would expect good numbers of fish to leave the tidal waters and make their way upstream. So we look forward to good fishing over the next number of days.
