The Kitchen Restaurant at Mount Falcon Estate
Irish Country Kitchen Dining in Co. Mayo
The award-winning Kitchen Restaurant is the focal point of dining at Mount Falcon. Bursting with authenticity and character the estate restaurant is located inside the original kitchen of the Victorian Gothic manor house (est. 1876). In keeping with the traditions of the world-renowned Mount Falcon Fishing and Country Estate our dishes are Irish through and through, showcasing the very best in quality and prepared using only fresh local produce.
The progressively protein focused á la carte menu is served daily for lunch and dinner. The Kitchen Restaurant features in-house dry aged beef, fresh seafood, and a range of pork, poultry, and vegetarian dishes. Under the direction of Chef Tom Doyle diners will be able to select their own preferred cuts of beef to suit their appetite and budget. A wide range of sides and desserts remain a staple to allow guests to tailor their dining experience to their own taste. Inspired by the ingredients and our West of Ireland home diners can expect to find a classic pot of spuds on the stove alongside menu items like pork belly, local crab, smoked Haddock, roast cauliflower, and saffron risotto in addition to the in-house managed dry aging cabinet selections. All beef, poultry, and pork are of Irish origin.
Mount Falcon is also proud to offer guests specially selected wines by the glass or bottle paired with each dish chosen by Resident Sommelier Max Gaudillot. A full wine list featuring wines from all the primary wine producing regions of France, and a range of quality producer-driven wine selections from around the world is also available.
Pushing beyond the expectations of a classic “fine dining” establishment Mount Falcon celebrates what makes Irish ingredients coveted the world over; quality locally sourced fair presented in a warm and welcoming Irish country kitchen.
Originally run by the legendary Connie Aldridge, founder of the Blue Book, our restaurant honours tradition while looking to today’s tastes for inspiration. As it was in Aldridge’s day the world-famous River Moy runs through the Estate and is a source of Wild Atlantic Salmon which anglers are encouraged to "Catch and Cook”. Just let the kitchen know of your catch.
The Kitchen Restaurant at Mount Falcon has a 2 AA Rosette, this prestigious award is merited on the basis of food excellence alone and is a testament to the preparation and commitment of the kitchen and restaurant team. Individuals, small groups, private parties, and all other occasions are catered for with our aim to ensure that every element of your dining experience will be enjoyable and memorable.
